The Institute of International Economy

The Institute for International Economics (IEI) is primarily a research center was established in 1995 was promoted by the Universities of Alicante, Jaume I of Castellon and València (Estudi General), which is part and Interuniversity Institute's own field.

The Institute's primary objective is to promote research platform open, and the highest academic level in the various lines of work in it are developed.

The IEI, for its operation, receives core funding of universities in which it is integrated. For the development of activity, receives financial support from other public and private entities, through agreements and contracts to perform specific works in the context of the research of the Institute and those which by their socio-economic importance are of interest to their surroundings.

They are currently assigned to the IEI teachers and researchers from the universities sponsoring, participating in its research activities of other agencies and national and foreign institutions.

Given its university, the IEI develops a related teaching, first, to their own personal responsibilities as part of the same and, secondly, from an institutional perspective, providing coverage to different academic postgraduate courses. In this sense, the IEI supports and participates in several courses, particularly in the Master in International Trade and own Title for Housing Studies of University of Alicante and in Program Ph.D. in Economics, together with the Department of Economic Analysis.

The IEI has a clear vocation for public service, as it seeks to respond also to demand for more applied research that stems from its environment, both public and private. Therefore, the IEI incorporates in its activities, work projects related to institutional and business initiatives, which gives an analytical and methodological conformity with the principles and objectives of academic excellence that define them.
